MEET REV. LASHONNA

Reverend Lashonna Lynn Smith is an emerging and unique voice in the Body of Christ. She is a woman of great faith, favor, prayer, and influence.  Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she is a graduate of Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. She is also a graduate of Shippensburg University located in Shippensburg, PA, where she successfully earned a Master of Science Degree in the Administration of Justice. Rev. Lashonna received her Master of Divinity degree from Turner Seminary at The Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA. She is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She serves as an Associate Minister at Mt. Zion AME Church in Bermuda. Her past vocational experience includes working as a Juvenile Probation Officer, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counselor, Correctional Facility Case Manager, and a Senior Probation Officer. She currently serves as an Educational Therapist.

Rev. Lashonna is the Founder of FORGIVEN, which is a ministry that spreads the message of God’s amazing grace, love, and redemption. She is the author of the book Forgiven: My Personal Story of Finding Forgiveness, Forgiving Others, and Forgiving Myself after Having Two Abortions. She had the privilege of being featured on Dr. Jamal Bryant’s show, “ The Empowerment Encounter” on the Word Network to share about her book Forgiven and her personal journey towards embracing God’s forgiveness. Rev. Lashonna is happily married to Rev. Dr. Jahkimmo Smith, the Pastor of Mount Zion AME Church in Southampton, Bermuda and is extremely thankful to God for their union. They are blessed with the privilege of being the parents to their daughter, Noah Lynn Smith. Rev. Lashonna has been blessed thus far to preach and minister the word of God in Bermuda, the United States, Brazil and the United Kingdom. She is grateful for the opportunity to preach, minister, inspire, and empower others wherever God sends her. A scripture that she holds near to her heart is 1 Corinthians 15:10 “ But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain…”
